How to Hire from Local Services
Submit a service request, get accepted, and pay — all in one place.
Find a service provider
Browse Local Services and click any listing to read about the provider, their pricing, and what they offer. Check their reviews if available.
Click "Request this service"
On the listing page, click "Request this service". This opens the service request form.
Describe your needs
Write a message explaining exactly what you need. If the listing has scheduling enabled, select your preferred date and time. Be as specific as possible — providers accept faster when they understand the job clearly.
Submit your request — no payment yet
Click "Submit request". Your request is sent to the provider. You're not charged anything at this stage. Wait for the provider to review and respond.
Provider accepts (or declines)
The provider will accept, decline, or propose a counter-schedule. You'll receive an email notification and can see the status in My Account → My Service Requests.
Pay after acceptance
Once the provider accepts, you'll receive a payment link. Return to My Service Requests, click "Pay now", and complete the Stripe checkout. Only then is payment collected.
Service complete
After the job is done, leave a review for the provider. Your review helps other buyers on StoneFjord make informed decisions.
